Senior Urban Designers/Design Technologists
Responsibilities
Senior Urban Designers/Design Technologists in the WND Team are responsible for:
- Preparation and management of applications comprising a wide range of residential, industrial, commercial and institutional development projects
- Preparation and management of projects requiring community design, master planning and site planning.
- Experience in shadow studies, 3D computer modeling, photo realistic visualization and/or Information Technology Support is an asset
- Preparation of Draft Plan of Subdivision / Condominium
- Preparation of urban design studies, urban design guidelines and publication design
- Presentations to client, stakeholders, municipal Committees and Councils
- Project coordination
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Minimum five to ten years of progressively responsible, relevant experience in urban design, land use planning or related fields in the areas of site planning, master plans, community and neighbourhood design, draft plan of subdivisions, brownfield/infill development, urban design studies, urban design guidelines and architectural control
- Design creativity and passion
- Self-motivation, strong analytical ability and good organizational skills
- Ability to illustrate and analyze three dimensional built form and spatial separation
- Interest in current design theory and practice, sustainable design and development trends
- Bachelors or Graduate Degree in urban design, architecture, land use planning or related field; LEED accreditation is an asset
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Sound manual and computer graphic skills
- Good working knowledge in AutoCAD (2005 or higher)
- Additional computer hardware and software knowledge of CorelDraw, Photoshop, MapInfo (v. 8.0), MS Excel; additional skills on QuarkXpress or equivalent. SketchUp or AutoDesk 3ds Max for 3D computer modeling application are assets
- Type G Drivers license and access to a vehicle

Urban Designers
Responsibilities:
Urban Designers in the WND Team are responsible for:
- Assisting in the preparation and management of applications comprising a wide range of residential, industrial, commercial and institutional development projects
- Assisting in the preparation and management of projects requiring community design, master planning and site planning.
- Assisting in the preparation of urban design studies, urban design guidelines and publication design
- Preparation of Draft Plan of Subdivision / Condominium
- Preparation of presentation materials and planning graphics
- Experience in shadow studies, 3D computer modeling, photo realistic visualization and/or Information Technology Support is an asset
Qualifications:
