Committee of Adjustment

Proponents of development proposals often require minor variances to existing zoning provisions to facilitate various features of their design or in some cases the use itself. In many instances development proposals require permission to sever parcels of land to provide new lots on which to achieve their development plans. These applications for minor variances and consent to sever parcels of land are reviewed and adjudicated by the Committee of Adjustment.

WND has extensive experience in providing planning services in respect of Committee of Adjustment matters including the preparation and submission of applications, appearing before the Committee of Adjustment in support of applications, the provision of site and shadow analyses, representation in mediation sessions and providing expert evidence before the Ontario Municipal Board, where necessary. Our experience covers a full range of issues from additions to single family detached dwellings to complex multi-use projects.
