WND was retained as the planning consultant and project coordinator in support of a major redevelopment initiative on the Cooksville Quarry lands in the south-central part of the City of Mississauga, Ontario. The 74 hectare site was the former home of Canada Brick Ltd. between 1912 and 1991, and required extensive soil remediation to facilitate redevelopment for a full range of residential uses centred around a new nine hectare park with recreation facilities, a school, parkettes and open space links, and retail uses (Home Depot and Loblaws). This redevelopment is now known as the High Park Mississauga community and will provide upto 1800 residential dwelling units upon completion.
