The Nottingham Community is an award-winning community within Neighbourhood 2 of the A6 Planning Community in the Town of Ajax, Ontario. WND was originally retained to design a new concept plan for this community with the understanding that it had been a long-standing desire of the Town that this area should develop as an upscale community. With this in mind, WND designed and refined the proposed concept and draft plans of subdivision for their clients to reflect an "enclave" pattern of development. Considered by many to be an innovative approach to design, the use of enclaves as the basic community design feature was intended to provide residents with a sense of privacy and a feeling of exclusivity. These two aspects were fundamental in making this community upscale, and a special place to live. We are sure the existing and future residents of Nottingham Community will agree.
