(Brookfield Homes / Del Corporation)
Stittsville Urban Village represents the culmination of an extensive land use planning exercise to design a residential community on 330 hectares of land located between the existing Stittsville and Kanata urban areas in the new City of Ottawa. This exercise included the development of a land use plan and concept plan featuring small, intimate neighbourhoods connected by an extensive parkland / school system and an integrated open space system. The land use plan directs more intensive land uses, including mixed residential, multi-family residential and non-residential development to areas in proximity to the emerging Kanata West Business Park and the existing community recreation complex in Stittsville. At this time, it is anticipated that a development yield of approximately 4000 to 5000 units (depending on the ultimate housing type and lot size mix) could be achieved in a multi-phased development that responds to the broader growth considerations of the western portions of the new City.
