Architectural control is a mechanism embedded in the development approval process to ensure that the final built form conforms to the design framework established in visionary documents such as urban design guidelines and/or architectural control guidelines.
WND is often retained as the Control Architect to prepare and implement a set of architectural control guidelines for a specific community or neighbourhood. As the Control Architect, we ensure that the siting of buildings, composition of building elevations, façade articulation of priority lots, and coordination of model/colour repetition conform with the intent of the Guidelines. As a result, the overall community image is enhanced with thoughtful and rigorous architectural control.
